Collect Testimonials

Collecting testimonials fails in the gap between asking and publishing: the reply arrives in an inbox, the permission is implied rather than recorded, and the quote never reaches the site. PraiseHarbor closes that gap with one link, one private review queue, and one embed.

  • Ask with a link
  • Review privately
  • Publish deliberately

The whole loop

Five steps from a signed-in workspace to a story on your site. Nothing in between requires a developer.

  • 1. Open a spaceSign in with Google and a private space is created for you, with its own collection address, inbox, and wall.
  • 2. Send the linkCopy the collection URL and put it wherever your customers already are: a reply, a receipt, an onboarding email, a support close.
  • 3. Receive with consentThe customer writes a few sentences, rates the experience, and ticks the display-consent box. The exact sentence they agreed to is stored with the story.
  • 4. Review privatelyYou get an email alert. The story waits in your inbox as pending, visible to nobody else, until you approve, hide, feature, or delete it.
  • 5. Publish onceApproved stories appear on the wall and in every embed of that space. Copy the iframe once; it stays current after that.

Why the consent record matters

A screenshot of a nice email is not permission to publish someone's name and words. The record is what makes the wall defensible.

  • Explicit, not impliedThe form cannot be submitted without ticking the display-consent box. There is no pre-ticked default.
  • The words they readThe stored sentence is the sentence shown: “I give permission to display this story publicly. It may be edited only for obvious spelling or length.”
  • TimestampedThe consent and the story share a submission timestamp, shown beside the story while you review it.
  • AuditableEach approve, hide, feature, and unfeature is appended to a moderation history kept with the story, up to the last 30 events.
  • ExportableA JSON export of the whole workspace includes consent records and moderation history, so the evidence is yours to keep.

What makes people actually reply

The product cannot write your ask for you, but the defaults are built around what tends to work.

  • Ask about the change, not the productThe default prompt is “What was difficult before? What is easier or clearer now?” — a question customers can answer without composing marketing copy.
  • Ask close to the momentThe link works anywhere, so send it right after the win: the successful onboarding, the resolved ticket, the renewal.
  • Keep the floor lowThe story field accepts 20 characters. Two honest sentences are a testimonial; a polished paragraph is a bonus.
  • Say what happens nextThe form states that nothing publishes without review, and your thank-you message is the last thing the customer reads.

What this page does not claim

Useful search results start with an accurate promise. These limits apply today, in the shipped product.

  • There is no importer for reviews held on other platforms, and no CRM, Zapier, or webhook automation.
  • A workspace has a single owner. There are no team seats, roles, or assigned approvals.
  • There is no video or file upload. Every story is text plus an optional 1–5 star rating.
  • PraiseHarbor does not send the request for you. There is no built-in outreach, sequencing, or reminder scheduling — you own the ask, the product owns everything after it.

Questions about collect testimonials

How do I collect testimonials without building anything?

Sign in, copy your space's collection link, and send it. The hosted form, the storage, the alert email, the review queue, and the public wall all exist from that moment.

Will PraiseHarbor email my customers for me?

No. It emails you when a story arrives. Sending the request — and choosing the moment — stays with you, because that is the part that depends on your relationship.

What stops a competitor or a bot from filling the form?

A hidden honeypot field, a limit of five submissions per minute per IP per space, a 32 KB payload bound, and server-side validation. Beyond that, nothing publishes without your approval, so a bad submission is a moment of your attention rather than a public problem.

Can I move testimonials I already have into PraiseHarbor?

Not through an importer — there isn't one. Stories collected elsewhere would need to be re-collected through the form, which is also the only way the consent record stays truthful.
